ADA / PARATRANSIT SERVICES

Green Mountain Transit Agency (GMTA) actively supports the American Disabilities Act and its efforts to ensure the right of public transportation to all people.  All GMTA buses are designed to accommodate individuals with disabilities and special needs.  GMTA Paratransit RiderEach bus is equipped with wheelchair lifts and restraints. 

GMTA provides ADA paratransit services for persons unable to use GMTA fixed route bus system because of a disability. This paratransit service is provided within three-quarters (3/4) of a mile, on either side, of the GMTA fixed route system, excluding commuter and deviated-fixed routes.

Eligibility for paratransit transportation for the seasonal Mountain Road Shuttle in Stowe is predetermined through an application process. Applications are available at Chittenden County Transportation Authority (CCTA) and can be requested by calling (802) 864-0211 or by emailing info@cctaride.org. Completed applications are evaluated within 21 days of receipt at CCTA. Notification of the resulting determination is then forwarded to the applicant by letter. Please review the Paratransit Guide that outlines policies for scheduling trips Paratransit Service Manual. Seasonal ADA paratransit service in Stowe is provided through Rural Community Transportation (RCT) through a service contract with GMTA. 

Upon request, GMTA will provide route service maps which show paratransit service within three-quarters (3/4) of a mile, on either side, of any GMTA fixed route system.
